Creating a CV and Covering Letter

Our teacher Mike Moss created a job for us to apply to so we can practise our skills on writing a CV and a Covering letter.


Within the CV and Covering letter they must show all of our skills and knowledge that we have learnt from either school, work experience or from a current or past job.


My CV also included all of my grades that I received from secondary school and college, I also have some of my basic personal details so each company I hand my CV to will be able to contact me.


Below is my covering letter for Mike Moss Productions but I have not yet included any of my personal details

After I was done writing up me CV and Covering letter I sent them both off in an E-mail with a small paragraph to say about the job I will be applying for.

Reviewing What We Have Done In College So Far

Script work with Jenni (research for scripts)
To be able to research, collate and prepare background materials


What did we do?
What we done for script work was to start to plan on how to write scripts. The research that I done was to found background research on what I wanted my script to be about. My idea is about this guy and girl meeting and falling in love on an online multiplayer game, the game in particular would be World of Warcraft. I chose this game because everyone has heard of the game and it is popular and having expansion packs being made for it.
There hasn't been any major films that have used this idea but there has been an anime show called Sword Art Online, in this all the characters get stuck in the new game that is out and the 2 major character fall in love. This was my main inspiration for my script because it shows that no matting if your stuck in a game for at school you can find your love.


Why it was useful?
I found this lesson to be very useful because I've now learnt that the more research and the more background materials I can find the easier it will be for me to write scripts in the future.


What I thought?
I thought that this lesson was very enjoyable because I would find some research that I would never had thought of thinking about, for example I didn't know that the gamming clip used in the Big Bang Theory is World Of Warcraft as I thought it was another online game

For my work experience, I have decided to write to the BBC and to see if I would be able to do my work experience in Bahrain while I'm their on holiday same time as the Grand Prix.
